Devin moves to Brooklyn after the sudden death of his father, coupled with the bitter ending of his own marital engagement. With a literal pocket full of money left to him by his father, he shows up unexpectedly at an apartment showing hosted by his old flame Rosa, with whom he shares a scandalous past due to running afoul of her Long Island mobster husband Clarence. Upon settling in, he ventures out into the neighborhood and meets a few of the city’s more eccentric characters. Later that night, he’s drugged, robbed and ends up in the clutches of Rosa’s vengeful husband and his brutal bodyguard Mauricio. Devin miraculously survives, enduring the best and worst of what his new home has to offer.
